Marc Barennes, LL.M.

Marc is in charge of developing new business opportunities and projects for CDC, as well as contributing to the successful outcome of ongoing actions. Marc also lectures on competition law litigation and litigation funding at Sciences Po Paris School of Law, is a Non-Governmental Advisor (NGA) for the International Competition Network (ICN) and regularly speaks and writes about these topics.

Before joining CDC Marc worked with the Court of Justice of the European Union (General Court) as a référendaire (Senior judge advisor) for more than 12 years. In that capacity, he has been involved in more than 350 EU cases, including more than 50 high-profile competition law and State Aid cases. Prior to joining the Court he was an official with the European Commission (Cartels Directorate of  DG Competition) for almost 3 years. He also practiced competition law in an international law firm in Brussels and Paris. Marc studied law in France (Paris-Sorbonne and Montpellier Universities) and in Chicago (Northwestern University) before qualifying as a member of the New-York State Bar.

Marc enjoys taking long walks in capital cities, visiting museums and travelling with family and friends.
